چکیده

In our work we have focused on the incorporation of Prussian Blue nanoparticles (NP) into polyelectrolyte multilayer films (PEM). The main goal of presented studies was to obtain polymer/nanoparticles films with controlled electroactive properties. The amount and ordering of deposited nanoparticles depended on the adsorption conditions of the underlying polymer anchoring layer. In the case of fully charged polyelectrolyte layer, nanoparticles were distributed uniformly. When anchoring layer was not completely charged, strong aggregation of nanoparticles at the surface was observed, causing diminution of current response of studied nanocomposite films. Thus, the selection of the proper formation conditions of nanocomposite films may influence their properties and it may even enhance their response.

Graphene is a new material consisting of single layer of sp 2 – bonded carbon atoms. Since its discovery in 2004 [1] graphene has emerged as the “material of the future” due to its unique nanostructure and electrical, thermal and mechanical properties [2,3]. Graphene is now considered as a promising material for application in various technological fields such as transparent conductive films [4...

Synthesis and properties of Prussian blue nanoparticles prepared by using Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride as protecting agent

A new approach for the synthesis of Prussian blue nanoparticles using the cationic surfactant Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride (CPC) as capping agent has been developed in the present work. Powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, UV–vis absorption spectra, and IR spectroscopy were employed to characterize the product. The TEM image showed that the Prussian blue nanoparticles with d...

Tunable synthesis of Prussian Blue in exponentially growing polyelectrolyte multilayer films.

Polyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) films have become very popular for surface functionalization and the design of functional architectures such as hollow polyelectrolyte capsules. It is known that properties such as permeability to small ionic solutes are strongly dependent on the buildup regime of the PEM films. This permeability can be modified by tuning the ionization degree of the polycations...

Ultrathin Polypeptide Multilayer Films for the Fabrication of Model Liquid/Liquid Electrochemical Interfaces

Ultrathin (<20 nm) polypeptide multilayer films are assembled by the electrostatic adsorption of alternating monolayers of poly(L-lysine) and poly(L-glutamic acid) onto carboxylic acid terminated alkanethiol-modified gold surfaces. These polypeptide multilayer films are hydrophilic, can bind electroactive anions such as ferri/ ferrocyanide, and are stable when immersed in organic solvents such ...
